The latest column is out from Adam Schein and he lists the Kansas City Chiefs as the NFL team with the biggest Super Bowl window right now.

The Kansas City Chiefs were this close to a Super Bowl appearance in 2018. Adam Schein says they’ll likely be that close or all the way there in the next year and every subsequent season for some time.

The NFL.com columnist recently listed the teams with the biggest Super Bowl window in the National Football League, and Schein believes the Chiefs have it best right now for obvious reasons (that all start with Patrick Mahomes).

Not only do the Chiefs have one of the best quarterbacks in the game (if not the best) in Mahomes, a winner of the NFL’s MVP award at the age of 23, but they have him in the middle of his rookie deal. They’re paying pennies on the dollar for elite production at the single most important position in the game. It’s a general manager’s dream come true.

From there, the Chiefs are also loaded with talent as illustrated by the fact that Pro Football Focus just placed 7 members of the Chiefs among the top 80 players in the NFL in their annual Top 101 countdown. The Chiefs are absolutely loaded on offense, including record-setting skill position players like Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce to go with defensive difference makers like Justin Houston, Dee Ford, and Chris Jones.

In fact, with a better coach in place, the Chiefs might have kept the New England Patriots from all that celebrating in the last week. Andy Reid fired Bob Sutton after six seasons as defensive coordinator and replaced him with Steve Spagnuolo, longtime defensive coordinator of the New York Giants. That move alone should help the Chiefs generate better production out of several young guys, and Veach has a lot of opportunities this fall to add more assets.

Together, the Chiefs are in a nice financial place to make the few moves needed to cement their overall talent level and take out the Patriots. That means they’ve got a nice window to make the Super Bowl and even walk away winners.

Other teams on the list include Chicago Bears, L.A. Rams, L.A. Chargers and Indianapolis Colts, who came in at No. 2.
