MARTRELL SPAIGHT, LB

Martrell Spaight is probably a name you have heard before. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 2015 in the fifth round out of Arkansas after recording 128 tackles which led to his selection as a first-team ALL-SEC player. Spaight has had trouble sticking to a roster so far during his career. He has spent time with the previously mentioned Redskins, Miami Dolphins, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The signing of Spaight could be a potential indicator that the Chiefs are planning on moving on from Terrance Smith. Smith is a free agent this season and was primarily a special teams player. Spaight has also been an above average special teamer and seems to be an overall better linebacker. If Spaight manages to have a decent offseason with Kansas City, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that he will make the final roster.
