L.A. CHARGERS

Oh, Philip Rivers. That photograph just defines you. The Los Angeles Chargers saw their season come to an end when they got their rear ends handed to them by the New England Patriots. To say that the Chargers looked flat would be an understatement.

While the Chargers, in my opinion, had better talent, they could not overcome the GOAT. Philip Rivers spent most of the day complaining to the refs rather than actually playing football, and the Patriots took advantage. Head coach Anthony Lynn is still in the talks for coach of the year as he most definitely did a phenomenal job coaching a very talented group of men. However, when they come up short like that, does he remain in the running?

It will be interesting to watch the moves the Chargers make during the offseason – there will be no major coaching moves, but Philip Rivers is starting to age. Will the Chargers look at the admittedly offensively weak 2019 draft to try to find the replacement for Rivers? Will they look to bolster their already stout defense with another Derwin James? These questions will need to be answered as they head into the offseason with another disappointing exit.
