The Kansas City Chiefs need help at running back, could Josh Jacobs be the solution for an already potent offense? A look at the Alabama prospect.

I know, I know. Josh Jacobs is not a cornerback or safety. Don’t worry, we’ll get to more of those players soon I promise. Feel free to check out this article on players who could help the Chiefs defense in 2019. Spoiler alert: Some of the prospects on this list will be highlighted very soon in this series.

The truth is the Chiefs still have a need at running back, even after signing Damien Williams to a two-year extension. Spencer Ware is scheduled to hit free agency and could likely get an offer to be a starter elsewhere.

It is also important to note that having a healthy run game will help Kansas City win the time of possession battle, one of the few areas the offense has struggled with this season. A healthy and reliable running game will take pressure off of Patrick Mahomes during his third year as a pro.

Alabama’s Josh Jacobs has been a hot name this month. Jacobs won the MVP for the SEC Championship and has been gaining buzz in the scouting community. Now seems like a great opportunity to check out the buzz for ourselves and delve into the tape on Jacobs.

Josh Jacobs is listed at 5’10 and 216 pounds. Jacobs has been a part of a stable of running backs for the Crimson Tide, but despite only having 287 career touches Jacobs has found the end zone 21 times.

Let’s take a look at the strengths, weaknesses, and how Josh Jacobs could fit in Kansas City.
