The Kansas City Chiefs will evaluate starting cornerback Kendall Fuller just before game-time against the Seahawks on Sunday night.
According to Ian Rapoport, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Kendall Fuller will be a game-time decision for the team as they evaluate his thumb after having surgery last week.
Fuller had an injured thumb against the Los Angeles Chargers and actually played through the issue despite needing surgery after the game. Fortunately for the Chiefs, playing on Thursday Night Football actually allowed Fuller and other injured players to enjoy a few extra days of rest before suiting up again on Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fuller missed the first couple days of practice for the Chiefs this week but was a limited participant late in the week, and Andy Reid spoke positively about Fuller’s potential to play despite the recent surgery.
If Fuller can play in the line-up against the Seahawks, it will go a long way toward at least slowing Russell Wilson and company. The Chiefs operate with a very thin margin on talent and depth at cornerback and the loss of perhaps their best young starter would leave Orlando Scandrick and Steven Nelson alone on the outside with Tremon Smith likely coming in to help or perhaps Charvarius Ward.
Fuller is in his first season for the Chiefs after coming over from the Washington Redskins in a January trade for quarterback Alex Smith. The 23-year-old has started all 14 games for the Chiefs this season and has 70 total tackles to go with 2 interceptions and 12 passes defended.
