The Kansas City Chiefs revealed their first injury report following the team’s practice on Wednesday as they prepare for the Seattle Seahawks.

There were several big names on the Kansas City Chiefs’ injury report on Wednesday, including players who are true game changers. It would be an extreme blow if any of these players miss action against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16, a crucial game for both teams as they jostle for postseason positioning.

There were three nonparticipants in practice on Wednesday for the Chiefs: offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz (knee), wide receiver Sammy Watkins (foot), and cornerback Kendall Fuller (thumb).

Schwartz is a surprising name as the team’s ironman performer, but it’s apparent that a knee injury kept him from practicing today for the Chiefs. Schwartz has not missed a single start or snap in his career and is the NFL’s leader in consecutive snaps played It would be devastating for both the offensive line and Schwartz’ snap streak if he is unable to play.

Fuller had surgery earlier this week, and along with Watkins and Schwartz, is designated as ‘day-to-day’ by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. There’s still a chance Fuller can play in Week 16, but we will know more as the week progresses.

Watkins, who has not played in a game since seeing limited snaps in Week 11, continues to deal with a foot injury that had him on a timetable of 4-6 weeks. If he doesn’t play this week, it’s possible the team will hold him off until the playoffs instead of forcing him to play the final game against the Oakland Raiders in Week 17.

As for the limited participants, the lone participant to practice in a limited fashion is running back Spencer Ware (Hamstring), who was inactive against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. Running back Damien Williams filled in nicely in Ware’s absence, but it will be nice for the team to get its starting RB back in the lineup. Limited participation is the first step, and as the team continues to practice over the next two days, we should know more and on his status.

Full participants for the Chiefs are star safety Eric Berry (heel), offensive guard Cam Erving (knee), wide receiver Tyreek Hill (heel), and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (tailbone). Berry has not practiced as a full participant all season, as the star safety continues to recover from ailing heel injuries that have kept him sidelined for 30 straight games. After playing against the Chargers in Week 15 on a pitch count, it appears Berry is starting to get better and his full participation is a great sign. If he continues to practice fully for the rest of the Chiefs’ practices this week, it would give us a good idea on his overall availability for Sunday’s matchup against the Seahawks.

Erving, who sat out against the Chargers, returned to practice fully, which is a great sign for the team’s starting left guard. The line struggled collectively without Erving, as they have already faltered a bit with starting right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif on injured reserve. Hill and Nnadi’s injuries don’t appear to be serious but more of a precaution/formality.

The Seahawks are banged up in terms of injuries as well. The nonparticipants in the Seahawks’ practice on Wednesday are wide receiver Doug Baldwin (hip), offensive lineman D.J. Fluker (hamstring), running back Rashaad Penny (back), safety Bradley McDougald (knee), safety Tedric Thompson (chest/ankle), defensive end Frank Clark (elbow), cornerback Shaq Griffin (hip), defensive tackle Jarran Reid (oblique/groin), defensive end Dion Jordan (knee), offensive tackle Duane Brown (non-injury related).

Baldwin, who has dealt with injury on and off throughout the entirety of the 2018 season, played in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers and was the team’s leading receiver for that game.

Limited participants for the Seahawks’ practice are defensive tackle Shamar Stephen (foot), linebacker K.J. Wright (knee), safety Maurice Anderson (concussion), running back Chris Carson (non-injury related). The Seahawks appear to be pretty banged up and, like the Chiefs, we should know more on the status of the players listed on the injury report as the week progresses.
