With Christmas around the corner, matching Santa’s reindeer with nine Chiefs players personalities is the right thing to do.

It’s Christmastime and it would be a crime to not write at least one Christmas-related Kansas City Chiefs article. So why not match Santa’s reindeer with nine of the Chiefs personalities?

Let’s start off by agreeing that Andy Reid is, in fact, Santa Claus. He runs the whole sleigh. He’s also portly and kind like a Santa should be. From there, let’s see which nine members of the Chiefs roster would be best matched with the famous reindeer.

Dasher

To start us out, Tyreek Hill is our Dasher, the fastest player on the team. Hill ran a 4.29-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day just two years ago. Currently, he is No. 13 with 410 yards after the catch and No. 2 with 11 touchdowns in the league. Let’s just say Hill’s opponents have a hard time catching up to him.

Dancer

Dancer definitely goes to Travis Kelce. Between his end zone celebrations and sideline dancing, this is the perfect reindeer for him. Not only does he have great dance moves, but he also always dresses GQ and stylish as many dancers do.

Prancer

Prancer is great when at work but tends to trot off. He gets distracted by another one of his passions: food. Mitchell Schwartz loves his sushi and his griddle to make pizza and bread, not to mention his obsession with brisket. However, Schwartz needs such a focus, as he puts in so much energy defending the star QB. This reliable offensive lineman recently reached his 7,000th consecutive career snap.

Vixen

Vixen is supposedly the female reindeer, but for this exercise, Vixen is going to represent the Chief with the biggest heart. Eric Fisher has donated to three Kansas City animal rescue groups in which he has partnered up with FishinForAMissionKC to protect these animals.

Comet

The second-fastest reindeer, or Chief, is none other than Sammy Watkins. At the NFL Combine, he ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash, but this reindeer must have a problem with warming up. Watkins is going through his second injury this season. First, he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos, and now, he is dealing with a foot injury he sustained in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns.

Cupid

This reindeer might be overlooked because he shares his name with a more known Valentine’s Day character, but now, it is his time to shine. Spencer Ware has returned to the starting running back position. Against Oakland in Week 13, he ran for 47 yards and one touchdown. When he started in 2016, he finished the season with 921 rushing yards and 447 receiving yards. This is his opportunity to do just as good or better for the team.

Donner

Donner originally received his name from the Dutch word Dunder meaning “thunder.” Dee Ford is No. 1 in the league in forced fumbles and No. 8 with 10.5 sacks. There’s no doubt that Ford’s performance is anything less than thunderous.

Blitzen

Blitzen originally received his name from the Dutch word Blixem meaning “lightning.” This MVR (Most Valuable Reindeer) goes to Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is within striking distance from reaching the all-time NFL record of touchdowns thrown in a single season. His lightning throws will sometimes shock you and have you watching in awe.

Rudolph

Since the Chiefs don’t exactly have a rookie that is extraordinarily standing out, this rookie reindeer who kicks butt goes to a Chief who’s on his second year in the league: Harrison Butker. This season, he has completed 19/20 of his kicks and is responsible for 51 of the Chiefs’ points.
