Defensively:

Don’t get beat in zone coverage:

This is pretty simple. The Raiders depend on their passing game to do anything on offense. When the Chiefs run their zone defenses, they will need to run it better than Cleveland does here. While the defenders are in position, they stand like scarecrows and do not break on the receiver in the area, resulting in a touchdown for Oakland.

Watch out for tight ends split out wide:

This is easily the most dangerous part of the Raiders offense. Jared Cook has been the only bright spot in a season filled with horribleness. The Chiefs will need to do everything in their power to slow him down. Here, Cook fakes inside and takes Patrick Peterson by surprise with his speed. When he cuts up field, he bursts ahead for the wide open touchdown because of how slow the safety rotates over.

Don’t allow the Raiders to get big gains on the ground:

With Doug Martin as the Raiders premier back, they are the opposite of frightening; However, they can occasionally set up good power run plays. Here, it appears that the Chargers send a blitz from the opposite side and there are a lot of one on one matchups that the Raiders win. Martin goes for a nice gain. The Chiefs will need to shut down this kind of offense.
