The Kansas City Chiefs have a handful of players who will miss practice on Wednesday as the team prepares to play the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Starting left guard Cameron Erving has joined the ranks of Kansas City Chiefs players who will sit out of practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Week 10 of the NFL season.
The Chiefs are already operating with a very thin offensive front, especially along the interior, but Erving can’t go on Wednesday due to an undisclosed illness. Hopefully, Erving will be able to feel better in the coming hours and days so that Sunday is not an issue for a team that’s tested its depth so much in the first half of the season.
Speaking of the offensive line, starting center Mitch Morse remains out as part of the league’s concussion protocol. Morse is dealing with serious repercussions on this head injury and it’s unclear when he will return. Austin Reiter will continue to start in his place.
Sammy Watkins, wide receiver, is also out due to a foot injury. We reported earlier today that Watkins had an MRI on his foot and it’s unclear when he will return, but it would not surprise anyone if he ended up sitting out one game, at least, especially as the Chiefs face one of the worst overall teams on the schedule.
Others who will sit out Wednesday’s practice include linebacker Anthony Hitchens, who is dealing with an ongoing rib injury, and safety Eric Berry, who remains officially day to day and doubtful on game days despite not having practiced in any official capacity in nearly three months.
