Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt shows off crazy leaping skills for a second straight week, this time over the Denver Broncos.

There are no words for this Kansas City Chiefs offense at times. From Patrick Mahomes incredible cannon of an arm and field vision to the elite skills of each of his pass catchers, the Chiefs are fielding a historic offense week after week in the NFL. Recently Kareem Hunt has stolen the spotlight for his ability to leap. Yes, we mean leap.

Hunt already stole NFL headlines with his own center of gravity, ability to create so many yards after contact, physical nature and great vision. However recently Hunt has been showing off his skills in the air, as illustrated by back to back weeks of crazy leaps over defenders to make everyone in Chiefs Kingdom swoon with pride.

Check out the following play from the second half against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Here we see Hunt not only elude the first three or so tacklers, all of whom would have kept him from making any gain to perhaps a modest few. From there he begins to speed up and then hurdles another would-be tackler who was going low on such a physical runing back. Then he sticks the landing with ease and carries on with his momentum straight into the end zone while simultaneously fighting with yet another tackler.

It would have been incredible even to elude those first few tacklers. It would have been even more amazing to hurdle and gain those yards. But for him to gain six points on that very play just shows how unfair this offense can feel to opposing defenses at times. For Chiefs fans, it’s incredible.

You might remember a similar play from last week.

In a dominating win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Hunt did the same last week. Not only did he overcome early resistance to even gain positive yardage on the play, but he came out of nowhere to suddenly hurdle over the Bengals defender. It was an insane play that might have seemed like a fluke except Hunt pulls this sort of play out of his hat every single week. Even Barry Sanders, perhaps the greatest running back of all time, took notice.

This should also be familiar to the Broncos, who only four weeks ago saw Hunt do the same thing in a comeback win over Denver on their home field. Watch this combination of a tremendous cut back followed by a punishing push forward. This is a great example of how unexpected the hurdles are given that Hunt is normally such a bruising back.

As Chiefs fans, we can’t wait to see what else Hunt has for us week to week. To the rest of the NFL he’s just one of several playmakers that a defense has to account for. Good luck.
