The Kansas City Chiefs made a statement on Sunday night when they dismantled the Cincinnati Bengals 45-10. That statement: fear the Kansas City Chiefs.

October is traditionally known as the spookiest month of the year. Halloween is just around the corner and television networks are filled with scary movies like Friday the 13th and, well, Halloween. But for many NFL teams the scariest thing on television Sunday night was the Kansas City Chiefs as they unleashed a wave of terrors on the Cincinnati Bengals that would have made Michael Myers proud on route to a 45-10 victory in Arrowhead.

If the Chiefs can keep playing like they did on Sunday night it won’t be Freddy Krueger terrorizing the dreams of NFL coaches; it will be the Kansas City Chiefs.

Look, I get it. The Chiefs lost last week and gave up 43 points in the process so calling them the scariest team in the NFL may seem like an overreaction at first glance. However, the fact that Tom Brady and the Patriots had to kick a last minute field goal in Foxboro—after also never punting and never being charged a penalty—in a game where Patrick Mahomes didn’t even play well in the first half only helps to prove just how scary this Chiefs team is.

If the Chiefs 5-0 start and nailbiter against Brady and the Pats didn’t have the NFL on notice, the absolute bloodbath against the Bengals in primetime Sunday should do the trick.

The offense led by Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes is out of this world.

The defense was by far the best its been this year. It didn’t get lucky. It didn’t face a bad offense. It just flat out played great.

The special teams unit is the best in the NFL.

The Arrowhead home field advantage is the best in the NFL.

Bottom line, facing the Chiefs team we saw on Sunday night against the Bengals is flat out terrifying and if you don’t already believe so here are three reasons you should.
