The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals for a primetime game Sunday night. We break down what we see on film from the Bengals.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Cincinnati Bengals in another Sunday night game in Week 7. After a shootout that took place in New England a week ago resulting in a close loss, the Chiefs look to stay on top in the AFC with a victory at Arrowhead Stadium. A victory won’t come easy, however, as the Bengals have been a team in the hunt this season as well.

After reviewing the tape against New England, there are certainly concerns going into this game as well. Kansas City will be without their top defenders once again in Justin Houston and Eric Berry. They will also be short two offensive linemen most likely with Laurent Duvernay-Tardif on Injured Reserve, and Mitch Morse unlikely to play as well.

Andrew Wylie and Jordan Devey played well filling in for these two against the Patriots, but the Bengals pass rush is an entirely different animal. Leading the group with players like Geno Atkins, Carlos Dunlap, and Carl Lawson, the Bengals will be looking to bring the pressure on Patrick Mahomes in an attempt to rattle him into mistakes. Luckily, Mahomes has played well when going up against strong pass rushing teams. The question will be, can he do it without both of these linemen on Sunday?

Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton is having one of the best seasons of his career so far. The offense under new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor has been explosive with weapons like A.J. Green, Joe Mixon, and Tyler Boyd. After watching the defense against the Patriots last week, I expect Dalton to have a decent game against a defense that looks like it can’t stop anyone.

Something that is in the Chiefs favor is the Bengals primetime tendencies. Since head coach Marvin Lewis took over 15 years ago, Cincinnati has gone 8-31 in primetime games. Andy Dalton has gone 5-19 in primetime. The hope is those struggles continue under the big lights, and we see a Chiefs team rebound off a close loss last week.
