The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off another major win over an opponent that is clearly in the talks for a deep playoff run in the AFC.

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to prove that they should be in the talks for the top team in the AFC race. With another remarkable win over the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday, the Chiefs have shown that they can take on the big boys in the AFC. Jacksonville was in the AFC Championship just a season ago, and likely will be a contender for that game in the 2018 season.

Not only does the win put Kansas City at 5-0 on the season, but it also gives them a head start over some tough teams. The Chiefs now have the tiebreaker over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and Jacksonville Jaguars going forward. Kansas City also has a two or more game lead over these teams which means Kansas City would have to lose a few more games than these teams throughout the rest of the season.

Another thing that the win over Jacksonville showed is that no defense in the NFL today can shut down the Kansas City juggernaut of an offense. The talk around the country was that Jacksonville had the personnel to be able to stop this Chiefs offense that has given defensive coordinators nightmares. That was far from the trust.

While the offense didn’t have the best game of the season, it still put up 23 points on a defense that averaged giving up 14 a week ago. Patrick Mahomes got the first interceptions out of the way and what better time than against this defense.

While many people want to point out that Kansas City started off 5-0 last season, and that a slump could happen again, fans should shut that down. Those writers are looking for click bait articles. Kansas City is poised to have a much better season with Patrick Mahomes than they ever were with Alex Smith under center.
