Week 4 is officially in the books and the Chiefs are still undefeated. The Chiefs are now tied with the Los Angeles Rams at 4-0.
After four weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs still lead the AFC West and have a 4-0 record. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos are Los Angeles chargers are tied at 2-2 and the Oakland Raiders have fallen behind at 1-3. This week, no one in the AFC West had a comfortable win.
The Chiefs won in a thrilling comeback against the Broncos on Monday Night Football. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to an amazing comeback. On a crucial third down play late in the 3rd quarter, Mahomes was flushed out of the pocket and somehow made an exceptional left-handed pass to wide receiver Tyreek Hill for the first down. In the end, Mahomes completed 28/45 passes for 304 yards and 1 touchdown and rushed 3 times for 7 yards and another touchdown.
Kareem Hunt also got the job done on the ground, rushing 19 times for 121 yards and a touchdown, while also catching 3 passes for 54 yards. This one was much closer than the Chiefs would’ve liked, but they were able to pull out a 27-23 primetime win over the Broncos.

The Broncos were a couple first downs away from claiming a victory over the Chiefs, but Mahomes had other plans. Quarterback Case Keenum completed 21/33 passes for 245 yards and 1 interception. Running backs Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman each scored a touchdown, rushing 12 times for 69 yards and 8 times for 67 yards respectively. The Broncos were unable to secure a win over the Chiefs, falling 27-23.
The Chargers won in a close one at home against the San Francisco 49ers. Even though it was a home game for the Chargers and 49ers backup quarterback C.J. Beathard was playing for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo, the Chargers struggled. Quarterback Philip Rivers completed 25/39 passes for 250 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Running back Melvin Gordon rushed 15 times for 105 yards and caught 7 passes for 55 yards. The Chargers pulled out a close win, 29-27.
The Raiders barely escaped with a win against the Cleveland Browns in overtime. Derek Carr completed 35 passes for 437 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions, while Marshawn Lynch rushed 20 times for 130 yards. The Raiders came back in the dying moments of the fourth quarter and tied the game. In their second possession of overtime, they marched downfield and kicked a game winning field goal with only minutes left in overtime. They scraped past the Browns, 45-42.
