The latest Madden ’19 sim is in for us as we journey through the season, and it looks like digitally we’re set to move to 2-0.

After a huge win against the L.A. Chargers both on the virtual and literal gridirons, the Kansas City Chiefs are 1-0. This week, they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers—a team that has had the Chiefs’ number in recent years. After crushing losses in both the regular season and postseason, Kansas City will try to right the ship with Patrick Mahomes as the new captain.

After Friday’s injury report was released, it is safe to assume that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will play, while a pair of other stars (Eric Berry for the Chiefs, and Leveon Bell for the Steelers) will not. This simulation reflects that.

As for the game’s results, Chiefs fans should love this if real life could somehow mirror this simulation, because the Chiefs marched down the field and scored a touchdown on their first drive of the game and never looked back. Final score: Chiefs win 34-26.

More from Arrowhead Addict

Mahomes tossed three touchdowns and passed for 233 yards to the tune of a 60 percent completion rate. Mahomes also threw his first interception of the year, to Steelers corner Coty Sensabaugh.

Kareem Hunt got going on the ground for the Chiefs. The second year back from Toledo ran for 140-yards with a 4.5-yard average. He got into the end zone once for the Kansas City Chiefs second score of the day, a carry from five yards out. Hunt also caught a ball out of the backfield and went 10 more yards.

Hunt had a relatively quite week last week, as did Travis Kelce. Like Hunt, Travis changed that against the Steelers according to Madden. Kelce hauled in six Mahomes passes for 86-yards leading both teams in receiving yards.

Tyreek Hill did not have a silent game last Sunday, in fact he had yet another break out game that left many wondering if he can be called a superstar in this league. According to Madden, he will turn in another good week, with 64-yards through the air averaging over 12-yards per reception.

Did you notice that neither Kelce or Hill had a touchdown listed in their stat line? That was not an error. The simulation showed that Sammy Watkins will hit pay dirt three times Sunday! He caught five passes for 56 yards.

For the Steelers, Big Ben threw for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Chiefs defense allowed Roethlisberger to complete 63 percent of his passes. However, Kansas City did come away with an interception when Armani Watts picked off the veteran signal caller.

Reggie Ragland led the Kansas City Chiefs in tackles with eight, including one for a loss. Chris Jones broke out with a three sack game, leading both teams in sacks. Justin Huston and Dee Ford both had half a sack each. Allen Bailey also collected a pair of tackles both for a loss.
