Kansas City Chiefs: A collaborative 53-man roster projection
Several of us at Arrowhead Addict put our heads together to see if we could arrive at a consensus for the Kansas City Chiefs 53-man roster.
It’s hard to believe that in just a matter of days, for some maybe even hours, the list of unemployed football players will jump by several hundred as every franchise pares down their choices from 90 to 53. While several of those will end up on practice squads, the reality is that cut day will mean the end of the line for dozens of players on each of the league’s 32 teams.
For the Kansas City Chiefs there are a number of difficult decisions ahead of them. Saying hello to exciting new players means waving goodbye to others who are proven but might have a limited ceiling. Some positions are quite deep which means cutting guys who a team knows will be a valuable performer for someone—just not them.
In order to avoid personal favorites or a one-sided view of things, we decided to organize our staff writers here at Arrowhead Addict and develop a consensus 53-man roster. We all submitted votes as to how we would make specific decisions, tallied up the count totals and came up with the most popular active roster for the Chiefs that we could. It won’t please everyone, but our hope is that it might look the most similar to what we might see play out over the next couple days.
