How does Patrick Mahomes stack up against the AFC West quarterbacks?
By Grant Tuttle
2. Patrick Mahomes II, Kansas City Chiefs
Am I biased? Of course. However, from the limited action that we have seen from Patrick Mahomes, he looks special.
It is possible that there has never been more excitement in the franchise’s history surrounding a young quarterback. With an exceptionally strong arm, good eye level, and good pocket presence already, I am drinking the Kool-Aid. Did I mention that Mahomes also throws no-look passes?
Anyway, I truly don’t believe that it is a stretch to say that Mahomes is potentially better than Derek Carr and Case Keenum. However, I can certainly understand the opposing side of this. It is completely reasonable to place Mahomes at number 3 or 4 on this list.
With a new quarterback, there are always high expectations but if Patrick Mahomes can do half as well as some Chiefs fans believe he can, he will be an excellent starting option.
