Eric Murray

A player that some might regard as an “easy cut” to make, Murray struggled last season. Without Eric Berry in the fold all season, the Chiefs got beat over the middle and over the top frequently. Eric Murray played an active role in this struggle as well as fellow safety Daniel Sorensen.

A year removed, it is possible that one or both of the safeties from the tandem of the 2017-2018 season may be removed from the roster. Will Dorian O’Daniel take the hybrid linebacker/safety spot? Will Armani Watts take the free ranging safety spot? Murray and Sorensen must show more than they did last season or they both could be gone.

Parker Ehinger

I liked Parker Ehinger when he first landed in Kansas City. Unfortunately, that is all we have to gauge his playing ability. Last season, Kansas City kept him on the bench and opted for the other left guard Bryan Witzmann who had some struggles. Ehinger looked serviceable in the passing game, but played well as a run blocker.

Next: Jamaal Charles could have been so much better

Unfortunately, due to injury and getting behind, we have not been able to see Ehinger play on a regular basis. My hope is that Kansas City uses him as a starter this season, but after last season’s lack of playing time, it is possible that Ehinger does not make the cut.
