Bleacher Report recently made a list of the undrafted free agents most likely to make the final roster, and Byron Pringle won the honor for the Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have several impressive young players in the fold already as rookie free agents, signed after the recent 2018 NFL Draft. However, Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski says that Byron Pringle would be voted “most likely to succeed” if it came down to a single player’s chances of making the team.

In a recent column, Sobleski tried to predict each team’s undrafted free agent with the best shot of making the final roster and Pringle came with high marks. He writes:

"The Chiefs still lack a third wide receiver option, though. Chris Conley and Demarcus Robinson have disappointed. Pringle can complement Watkins in the offense and serve as the Chiefs’ kick returner after Akeem Hunt’s release."

Last year, Pringle had 30 catches for 724 yards and 6 touchdowns and averaged 26 yards per kick return in special teams. With limited opportunities, Pringle always came up big which could serve him well at the next level. Sobleski, it seems, has picked a decent player.

That said, the idea that Conley and Robinson have disappointed is a bit of a misnomer, at least in the case of Robinson. In addition, Conley was out for the entire season last year due to injury after showing stronger numbers in 2016. As for Robinson, he’s looked solid in the very limited reps that he’s ever received, especially in relief late last year for an injury depleted corps of wideouts.

The Chiefs also have receivers like Gehrig Dieter, Marcus Kemp and Jehu Chesson competing for playing time which might make things difficult for Pringle to make the active roster. That said, the practice squad seems like a pretty good place for Pringle to begin.

Other potential favorites to make the Chiefs active roster out of the rookie free agents who are still around include defensive backs like Arrion Springs and Malik Reaves as well as quarterback Chase Litton.
