3 free agents who could help the Kansas City Chiefs secondary

With the conclusion of the 2018 NFL draft, Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach showed that he believed that the defense needed a lot of help. Veach just seemed to be focused on other areas than the fans. Most fans including myself though that our first pick this season would be a corner. Instead the Chiefs drafted Breeland Speaks and didn’t address the corner back position until the sixth round.
While Tremon Smith, a small school prospect out of Central Arkansas, could end up being a big part of this defense in the next few years no one will be expecting him to do so this season. This late in the off season there normally isn’t much that you could do to help this.
This year, however, there are still quality free agents all over the place. While it will most likely have to be a two-year deal, the six million dollars in cap space that the Chiefs have projected at the moment would be just enough wiggle room to sign one more free agent.
