After spending the first couple of seasons on practice squads in the NFL, Justin Hamilton played in the regular season for the first time in his career in 2017. He played three games with the Philadelphia Eagles early in the season and one game with the Chiefs. His only game with the Chiefs came in Week 17 when Kansas City decided to rest a lot of its starters before the playoffs.

The Chiefs signed Kansas City native and former Arizona Cardinals nose tackle Xavier Williams and drafted Nnadi Derrick this offseason. But that does not completely spell the end for Hamilton just yet.

Williams started only two games in his three years with the Cardinals, collecting 22 tackles, half of a sack and one forced fumble. All three players will have an opportunity to compete for the starting nose tackle spot going into Week 1. But it is possible that one of the three get cut before the regular season kicks off.
