For the second consecutive season, the Chiefs spent a second-round pick on an edge rusher, grabbing Tanoh Kpassagnon last year and Breeland Speaks this past weekend. Frank Zombo has been with the Chiefs since 2013 and active for every game. But he’ll have to work hard to keep a spot on the roster this season.

After starting just seven games in the first three seasons, Zombo was given more starts due to inactivity from Justin Houston in 2016 and Tamba Hali in 2017. Zombo started 20 games in the last two years combined, compiling 84 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

With Houston and Dee Ford as projected starters for Week 1 as Kpassagnon and Speaks are part of the fold, Zombo will have to impress the coaching staff in order to maintain his spot on the roster.
