The Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers are two teams rumored to be trading up in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Two teams from the AFC West have made it clear that they are wanting to move up once the second round gets underway on Friday night in Arlington, Texas during the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are both apparently looking at specific players and are willing to do what they must to reach up and grab them. Per Jason La Canfora:

Brett Veach, general manager for the Chiefs, has talked himself about his staff’s aggressive approach and how that will affect their draft standing. The idea of moving up into the first round was something they explored on Thursday night, but ultimately the talks never came to anything.

The Chiefs are often linked to some of the best available cornerbacks at this stage of the draft, including names like Isaiah Oliver from Colorado or Josh Jackson of Iowa or Carlton Davis of Auburn. Perhaps one of those names would fall all the way to No. 54, their first official pick, but it’s likely that the Chiefs will want to control their own destiny and make sure they don’t miss out.

To move up to the very top of the second round, the Chiefs would certainly be expected to trade away one of two third round choices in their current arsenal along with the pick at No. 54. The Chiefs also have two fourth round selections and they also have two second round picks next year as well if that worked to ship one of those instead of this year.
