The NFL has announced the full slate of preseason contests before the 2018 regular season is set to begin and the Chiefs will host the Texans and Packers.

The National Football League announced the start to their 2018 preseason schedule as well as the full four-week slate for all 32 NFL teams earlier this week. The season will officially kick off, or at least the preseason, on Thursday, August 2, at the NFL’s annual Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio where the league has been making serious preparations to enhance their facilities.

This year, the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens will be the first two teams to suit up and show fans what they might expect this coming season. Matt Nagy will take to the sidelines for his first official NFL action versus another team with the Bears after years serving alongside Andy Reid in Kansas City with the Chiefs.

As for the Chiefs, they know they will open the season at Arrowhead in a game against the visiting Houston Texans. They will return to Arrowhead in the final game of the preseason when the Green Bay Packers come visiting K.C. just before the regular season is set to begin.

The final dates and times have yet to be determined/announced, but for now here’s the full slate of Chiefs games.

Week 1
Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs

If fans are lucky, we might see our first official Patrick Mahomes vs. Deshaun Watson competition, quarterbacks who were taken just two picks apart in the 2017 NFL Draft. That will depend, of course, on Watson being healthy after tearing his ACL.

Week 2
Kansas City Chiefs @ Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan commands one of the NFL’s most potent offenses. It will be fun to see if the Chiefs can keep up with their own reloaded offensive attack.

Week 3
Kansas City Chiefs @ Chicago Bears

The Chiefs visit Chicago in a game that pits Andy Reid against his protege Matt Nagy. This is also a very important game for fringe players as teams are largely making their final roster decisions based on this week’s performances.

Week 4
Green Bay Packers @ Kansas City Chiefs

The final tune-up for the regular season brings Aaron Rodgers to town in a rare sighting at Arrowhead. Fans should also get a nice look at the starters at least through much of the first half.
