The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly spending some time with Brigham Young defensive lineman Tomasi Laulile before the NFL Draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a fairly strong connection to Brigham Young University football given the fact that’s head coach Andy Reid’s alma mater. Perhaps the Chiefs are hearing good things from insiders, then, as they spend time with defensive line prospect Tomasi Laulile.

Per Terez Paylor, the Chiefs reportedly spent time with Laulile after BYU had its recent pro day after he put up an impressive 4.77 second time in the 40-yard dash. That’s a very solid time for a player clocked in at 6’3 or 6’4 and 285 lbs. (depending on which source you check). At the NFL Combine, Laulile would have been 6th fastest time in the 40-yard dash despite weighing 20 pounds more than those at the top (Marcus Davenport, Bradley Chubb).

Laulile did not play all of last season due to being suspended for his senior year at Brigham Young, so any interested team will want to do their as for being a part of an on-field fight. Given the lack of recent playing time as well as the checkered past, Laulile is most likely an undrafted free agent for the Chiefs, or any team, in the end and Brett Veach is doing his homework ahead of time to have a list ready to go post-draft.

In limited duty in 2016, Lauline had 13 total tackles, including 3 for a loss, and 3 total sacks. He had 10 career sacks for the Cougars
