Wide receiver Kendall Wright continues to make numerous free agent visits, the latest with the Minnesota Vikings per reports.
Free agent wide receiver has made yet another visit with interested teams by spending time in the Twin Cities with the coaches and front office of the Minnesota Vikings.
Wright recently spent another visit with the Kansas City Chiefs in the last week as Brett Veach, the team’s general manager, was apparently thinking of adding yet another free agent receiver to a very potent offense—at least on paper.
The Vikings are hoping to bolster their own offense as they seek to go deeper into the playoffs after a very impressive run in 2017. They’ve replaced Case Keenum as the starting quarterback with the biggest free agent signing of all in Kirk Cousins and they’re likely set to add at least a couple playmakers in free agency and the draft. Wright would certainly fit the bill as a reliable slot receiver.
Last year, Wright spent a single season with the Chicago Bears after beginning his NFL career with five seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Wright had a career low in touchdowns last year with only one to go with 59 catches and 614 yards, but Chicago wasn’t exactly a high-octane offense last year as they lacked serious punch at wide receiver.
It will be interesting to see if Wright ends up signing with the Vikings, Chiefs or another club and whether any wait is on the part of the player or team. While Chiefs fans are waiting to find out if Wright will join the team’s offense, it could be that Wright is wanting to weigh all of his options before deciding, which means seeing which teams might also reach out during this free agent period.
