A closer look at the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes and how the race for the quarterback affects the Kansas City Chiefs.

Well, Chiefs fans, we dodged a bullet in the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes. The Denver Broncos will reportedly sign Case Keenum once free agency begins on Wednesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. This means that the Broncos have moved on from trying to get Kirk Cousins and are going with Keenum as their guy. Phew!.

Free agency is always a fun time in a player’s career, as they get to choose where they get to play out the next years of their career.

This offseason, the QB market is relatively thin with Cousins, A.J. McCarron, and the Minnesota Vikings’ trio of Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater and Case Keenum (now off the market) being some of the biggest names. Personally, I believe Kirk Cousins wants to win. The Redskins just weren’t getting it done, missing the playoffs for the second straight year, and have not had a playoff win in more than a decade.

This is a tough pill for any quarterback to swallow, and Kirk Cousins had enough. So let’s take a look at some of Cousins’ biggest suitors.
