The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to lose Zach Fulton to the Houston Texans, per a rumor from NFL analyst Ian Rapoport.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a number of free agents hitting the open market this week as free agency opens and one of their most valuable and versatile, offensive lineman Zach Fulton, is likely heading to the Houston Texans.

According to Ian Rapoport, Fulton is likely going to be the latest addition to the Texans offensive line if the rumor proves true, another offseason export from the Chiefs a la Jeff Allen two years ago.

Of course, nothing is yet a done deal as Rapoport himself suggests:

Fulton entered the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs as one of two very impressive sixth round picks by former general manager John Dorsey. Along with Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who is the Chiefs starting right guard, Fulton started every game at guard his rookie season and soon developed into a nice versatile back-up who could immediately plug and play all along the offensive interior.

While the Chiefs are not losing a starting offensive lineman, so to speak, in this process, the reality is that Fulton has proven very valuable due to injuries at several positions and lose their sixth man along the line. Fulton can be a solid starting center yet his presence will give the Texans, or whoever signs him, a lot of options along the interior should the need arise.

The Chiefs now face a thinner line heading into 2018 and have to hope that Parker Ehinger, Bryan Witzmann and Cam Erving can get the job done. The Chiefs are also likely to bring in some help via the draft to bolster the interior.
