Willie Snead

Like Wilson, Willie Snead was an undrafted free agent. He bounced around with numerous teams before landing with the New Orleans Saints in 2014. The next year,  he would enjoy a breakout season with 984 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2015 and another 895 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2016.

Before the 2017 season, Snead was suspended due to failing a breathalyzer after hitting a parked car. While he only missed three games due to suspension, Snead was barely a part of the offense when he returned. Wide receiver Michael Thomas continued his ascent in New Orleans in his second year and newly acquired wide receiver Ted Ginn became the much needed deep threat in the Saints offense.

The slump year could result in a cheaper deal for Snead whether he stays with the Saints or goes elsewhere. It could be a steal for a team in need of a fast receiver coming out of the slot. There is plenty of tape on Snead from the previous two seasons including 2016 when the Saints offense was the best overall.

If the Chiefs believe they can get Snead back into his 2015-2016 form again, they should look at making an offer. Snead is a restricted free agent with the Saints so any offer made to the young receiver the Saints can match. He fits what general manager Brett Veach is trying to do, which is to go young and cheap.
