No. 78. Kemoko Turay, Edge, Rutgers

Size: 6’5, 252 lbs.

With Easterling’s draft, the Chiefs finally turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball in round 3 and walk away with a couple of very interesting prospects. There’s a lot to like about the selection of Rutgers pass rusher Kemoko Turay with their first of two picks (thanks to the Washington Redskins deal). After all it’s likely the greatest need on the current roster.

Turay comes with question marks, but if he didn’t, he wouldn’t be available here. To get them out of the way, he’s a bit raw compared to guys with better tape. He also didn’t start playing until much later than most players (only 2 years of high school football). Medical teams are also going to have to really check on Turay’s shoulder, because multiple surgeries to try to repair it over time ruined 2 years of his college career.

That said, take a closer look at what Turay can do with his motor and wingspan. He has a nose for the ball and showed off well at the Senior Bowl. Check out below

Given the need for someone to step up opposite of Justin Houston, Turay would be a nice addition to the Chiefs defense.
