The Kansas City Chiefs could be forced to play defense for the rest of the game without their anchor on the defensive line in Chris Jones.

The Kansas City Chiefs might be without one of their very best defensive players and a huge difference maker for the last month with the news that defensive lineman Chris Jones has a knee injury and has been taken back to the team’s locker room. That means that Jones is questionable to return to the Chiefs in their game against the Tennessee Titans on Saturday.

The anchor of the Kansas City Chiefs front line along the defense has been Chris Jones for the last two years. Ever since the former second round pick earned playing time early his rookie year, Jones became a very valuable performer who only got better down the stretch. This year, Jones has taken a significant step forward, especially in the month of December, and his presence will be missed for sure.

The Chiefs are up 21-3 when Jones went down but without him, the Titans ended up marching down the field for a touchdown even though they started at their own 9-yard-line. A fluke touchdown from Marcus Mariota to himself, deflected off of Darrelle Revis, ended the drive, but the Titans still kept a nice pocket without Jones in the game.

Jones has two tackles so far in the game. It also hurts that Rakeem Nunez-Roches is inactive for the Titans game as well, meaning the Chiefs are now a bit thin along the line. Allen Bailey, Jarvis Jenkins, Justin Hamilton and Bennie Logan are now the only options up front for Kansas City.
