Andy Reid will once again let offensive coordinator Matt Nagy do his thing as he runs the offensive playcalling for the Chiefs against the Raiders.

It’s hard to argue with the results from last Sunday. When Matt Nagy was calling the offensive plays in Week 13 for the first time for the Kansas City Chiefs, it was a banner day for the team’s offense.

Alex Smith was even named the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for his performance which included four total touchdown passes, two apiece for tight end Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill.

On the day, the Chiefs still lost to the New York Jets despite putting up 31 points of total offense, but it was clear the team had found a willingness to go deep again after a lackluster several weeks. Andy Reid apparently liked the results because he’s letting Nagy once again call the shots.

After last week’s loss, Reid admitted that he wasn’t going to make any long-term decisions on who would call plays. Rather, he would take it game by game and allow things to remain fluid with only four games left in the season. For this week, at least, Nagy will have the chance to guide the offense against a visiting Oakland Raiders team that is tied with the Chiefs atop the AFC West.

If the Chiefs can pull off their first win since October, it will not only stop the bleeding but give them a real boost toward season’s end knowing they’ve put away one of two AFC West foes in their quest for a second straight division title.
