KANSAS CITY, MO - OCTOBER 30: Tight end Travis Kelce

We take a look at the QB position with Arrowhead Pride’s Seth Keysor as we try to figure out what is going on with Alex Smith.

The Kansas City Chiefs returned to practice on Wednesday and there were four players that didn’t participate in practice. Dee Ford continues to not be available which begs the question of whether or not he will be the rest of the season. Eric Murray suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills and didn’t practice. Ukeme Eligwe missed practice with a sore Achilles that he reported on Sunday before the game. Charcandrick West didn’t practice, but it was not for anything injury related.

The Chiefs head to New Jersey this weekend to take on a Jets team that they humiliated the last time they played. Kansas City could use that kind of game to get back into the swing of winning but the Jets are a much better team now. The Chiefs have a player more than likely making his debut against his former team in Darrelle Revis and that served them well when Ragland played the Bills.

With Kansas City losing five of their last six games, winning the division which looked like a foregone conclusion is now a question mark. The Chiefs hold the cards for the rest of the season if they win out but that’s a tall task to expect from this team right now. Andy Reid has to have this team ready to play and play well. If Smith comes out and isn’t making plays there has to be a consideration of making a change. While it’s easy for the team to say it’s just for the game if Mahomes comes in it is most likely permanently.
