The headline from Tuesday was the benching of Eli Manning in New York; how much different would that Chiefs v. Giants game have been.

The

Kansas City Chiefs

elevated

Orson Charles from the practice squad

on Tuesday which is a little surprising. My thought was they had to be going to a TE because they wouldn’t go into the game with only two. The change is I never expected it to be Charles. Orson can fit an intriguing niche for this team that may be a move for Reid to try to boost the running game. While he won’t be mistaken for old Chiefs TE Jason Dunn anytime soon, Charles is a much

better blocker than Ross Travis

.

Kansas City had Tuesday off as they regroup to head to New Jersey to face the Jets this weekend. There are plenty of questions regarding this team and how they could finish out the season. The Chiefs offense continues to flounder. It doesn’t look like it will improve unless Alex Smith starts making better reads post snap. The Chiefs have too many offensive weapons to continue to be stymied as much as they have so you have to think they will find a way out of it.

The Chiefs defense has been a much brighter spot over the past couple of games. Reggie Ragland looks to be a fixture of this defense for a very long time if he continues to play the way he has been. Kevin Pierre-Louis also appears to be a good find for the Chiefs and can help their future at middle linebacker. The biggest thing that the emergence of Ragland has allowed the team to do is shore up it’s run fits. With Ragland the Chiefs can play more of a traditional 3-4 look.
