The Kansas City Chiefs have lost four of their last five but they’re still favored by 10 by oddsmakers over the visiting Buffalo Bills.

From the outside looking in, the Kansas City Chiefs are still among the AFC’s best teams, a division leader and a good bet to even host a game or more in the playoffs. From the inside, as fans, it might not feel as good, but tell that to NFL oddsmakers in Las Vegas.

Per Sports Book Review, the Chiefs are an incredible 10 point favorite over the visiting Buffalo Bills for Sunday afternoon. It’s a surprise given the Chiefs recent slide, but it certainly helps that the Bills have looked just as bad in that span.

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost four of their last five games, and the single win in that time span was basically a giveaway by the Denver Broncos—a game that Trevor Siemian served up interceptions on a platter in what turned out to be a way-too-close. It’s a miserable free fall after the undefeated start K.C. enjoyed to begin the year.

The Bills weren’t even expected to compete this year after they traded several reliable veterans or even promising young players before the season—remnants from a previous leadership regime like Reggie Ragland and Ronald Darby and Sammy Watkins who no longer fit. Yet somehow the Bills rallied under head coach Sean McDermott and surprised with a 5-2 start that had them playoff-bound as well.

Since then, however, the Bills have lost three in a row, allowing 135 points during that span. The Bills defense has completely fallen apart since trading Marcell Dareus at the deadline. That pitiful output likely has oddsmakers believing that the Bills are ultimately trending as predicted before the season began. If the Bills are in free fall themselves, they might be the perfect team for K.C. to meet in the midst of their own.
