The Big Three

As the season has worn on, it has become obvious that how far the Chiefs make it this January will depend upon their offense. That actually bodes well for Kansas City, as I believe they have the best wide receiver, tight end, running back combo in the league. Let’s break down each of them in a bit more detail.

Tyreek Hill

There is not much more I can say about wide receiver Tyreek Hill at this point. So far this season, Hill has 40 receptions for 617 yards and four touchdowns. He is averaging 15 yards per reception in Alex Smith’s offense! No player in the league have the ability to destroy your game plan like Hill. His touchdown at the end of the half in Dallas last week is a perfect example.

Or, consider this catch in Oakland against the Raiders during Week 7. Tony Romo points out on the broadcast that the corner is playing 15 yards off of Hill and still has no chance at catching him.

As long as Smith continues to find him, there is no limit to what Hill can accomplish.

Kareem Hunt

While Hunt’s production has dropped off a bit as of late, the rookie has still far exceeded expectations this season. I firmly believe Hunt’s lack of production has more to do with the lack of touches he is being given by Andy Reid and less about his own ability. One has to assume that come January, when you are playing smash mouth football in the frigid cold, Reid will lean heavily on Hunt. Hunt has a unique ability to crush the soul out of anyone who tries to tackle him:

Hunt is the kind of player that can dominate in January.

Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce is the best tight end in the National Football League. I don’t think the argument is even that close anymore.

While Kelce and Rob Gronkowski mostly use their size and speed to create mismatches, Kelce adds a certain blend of finesse that no tight end in the league possesses. Travis Kelce is one of the leagues greatest weapons, there really is not much else to say here.
