KANSAS CITY, MO - OCTOBER 02: Tight end Travis Kelce

We take a look at the offensive side of the ball and what the Chiefs need to do to get ready for the second half of their season.

Kansas City heads into their bye week at a perfect time for the team. Between health and their most recent four games the Chiefs were in need of time to recharge and regroup. The Chiefs have a lot to be happy with sitting at 6-3 but losing three of their last four is concerning.

Andy Reid spoke to the media on Monday and didn’t have many updates. Allen Bailey is still being treated for a MCL sprain. The Chiefs have to hope that Bailey is able to come back healthy soon. He is a key cog on their defensive line. Reid also stated his displeasure with the pass interference call on Steven Nelson against Dez Bryant. The play cost the Chiefs a chance to get the football back and take over the game. Instead the Cowboys continued their drive and took even more time off the clock.

The Chiefs will be heading in all different directions over the next week. They are given the week off and won’t have to return until next Monday. Many players need this time to rest and recuperate as much as they can before the rest of their season kicks off. The coaches will be around for the next couple of days as they try to find different things that can help this team perform better on the field. Kansas City certainly has plenty to look at. They have an opportunity to win their division and mostly control their own destiny in the AFC as well.
