We recently spoke with Denver Broncos expert Ty Walden about Garrett Bolles, Vance Joseph and Monday Night Football.

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to host the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football in another key moment for the AFC West, we recently sat down to talk to Broncos expert Ty Walden. Specifically we asked whether this is really a do-or-die moment for Denver, their recent slide, their offensive line and how rookie Garrett Bolles is looking.

Is Monday’s game truly a do-or-die moment for the Broncos in 2017?

It’s tough to say since the Broncos will still have nine games left after this one. As far as the division is concern, this is huge for the Broncos. A win would put them within reach of the division. Not to mention a win would be huge at this point of the season.

Trevor Siemian has looked like a promising young quarterback (with an albeit limited ceiling) and he’s also looked horrible. Which is the real Trevor Siemian?

More from Arrowhead Addict

Siemian in the first two games looked like he could be the bonafide star at QB the Broncos need. But he has struggled because it looks as if it is how defenses are preparing for him or something else. In order for Siemian to be successful, the running game needs to do better and he needs to limit the mistakes.

With Melenik Watson coming back, how confident do you feel about the state of the Broncos front line and why?

When the front does their job, they are a solid unit. But it seems as if they’ve taken a step back. Menelik Watson, unfortunately, has been the weak link when it comes to pass protection. Granted, he’s gone up against some big time talent, but the hope was that he could improve. Hopefully we can see that. If he and the rest of the O-Line gel, it’ll be a solid unit.

How has Garrett Bolles looked so far as the team’s first round draft pick?

Garett Bolles has been a stud at left tackle. Almost everything about his game impressed me. If he can clean up the holding penalties, he can be a star in this league.

What are opinions of Vance Joseph as head coach through his first half season?

He was looking pretty good. My only concern is his play calling. He strays away from the run too easily and makes some questionable decisions. I’m curious to see how he can improve.

What’s your prediction for Monday night?

I’m not sure I can give a score prediction. I see this game going either way. It’ll really depend on how both teams execute the game plan. If Denver has anything going for them, they aren’t playing in Arrowhead in December. If Siemian and the run game can get it going as well as the defense plays lights out, this will be a Broncos win.
