The Kansas City Chiefs might be without Travis Kelce for the rest of the game if Travis Kelce doesn’t check out well in a concussion protocol.

The Kansas City Chiefs are already down several key players on both sides of the ball, but some bad news might be coming their way depending on the word they get from their medical staff once Travis Kelce is checked out. The star tight end is reportedly in a concussion protocol after taking a nasty hit to the head on a major play in the first half.

Kelce had yet to appear in the second half and the explanation finally came through. Clearly the team’s trainers were able to check Kelce out a bit more in depth at halftime and didn’t like what they saw.

Kelce had already had himself quite an incredible night with 8 catches on 11 targets in the first half for 98 total receiving yards. He was key on long third downs and helped the Chiefs race out to a nice 23-7 lead at halftime.

Now the Chiefs will turn to Demetrius Harris and Ross Travis on the depth chart to help take pressure off of the wide receivers and Kareem Hunt on offense. Fortunately Harris already has 3 catches for 21 yards on the night and is looking sharp in the first half.

Kelce has 29 total catches on the season for 353 receiving yards and seems well on his way to another All-Pro season for the Chiefs.
