The Kansas City Chiefs have opened as 7-point favorites over the visiting Washington Redskins heading into their match-up at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 4.
The Washington Redskins face a serious challenge in Week 4 as they head to Arrowhead Stadium to face the hottest team in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs. Bettors clearly agree that the task will be daunting given that the Chiefs have opened as the favorites by a full touchdown.
That said, Washington might be well positioned to actually pull off a bit of an upset given the way they played in Week 3. The Redskins complete decimated the Oakland Raiders, the primary challengers for the Chiefs in the AFC West, in an unexpected win that shed a new light on the Raiders. Marshawn Lynch had only 18 rushing yards. Derek Carr looked far from the NFL’s brightest young quarterback. Amari Cooper had a single catch for 6 yards.

Coming into Arrowhead, Washington will need the same defensive approach to be successful. Shutting down the NFL’s hottest player in running back Kareem Hunt will be a tall order already, but they’ll also need to game plan to hold tight end Travis Kelce and wide receiver Tyreek Hill in check. So far this year, no one has come close to shutting down all three, and the Chiefs have figured out how to leverage at least one of those player’s offensive abilities enough to win through three weeks.
Given Washington’s recent performance, it might be a bit generous to give the Chiefs a full touchdown. Then again, the Chiefs didn’t even play that great last week against the Chargers and still won by 14 points.
