Locked on Chiefs: Pro Football Focus’s Mike Renner talks Kareem Hunt

Mike Renner from Pro Football Focus joins the show to talk to about Kareem Hunt, Alex Smith and Justin Houston.

Kansas City has a couple of days off after their third win of the season as they prepare for the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. There are several questions that we will have to wait to have answered. There isn’t any media appearances for head coach Andy Reid or anyone on the staff until Thursday so for now we are in a holding pattern.

The biggest question headed into this week right now is whether or not the Washington Redskins that we saw on Sunday night against the Raiders. The Raiders offense couldn’t get the ball moving once Derek Carr started to struggle. Carr got picked off a couple times early and then they started to get pressure later in the game. The Redskins offense looked fantastic most of the night as their running backs and tight ends consistently made plays. The Raiders defense is by far the weakest side of the ball so the Redskins offense will have to be better next week.

Injury questions will also start to be a question heading into this weeks game. Steven Nelson is still out for the next couple of weeks and can’t return before week nine. Cornerback Phillip Gaines got injured during the game but came back and finished the game out. The biggest injury question moving forward is Dee Ford. Ford left the field during the third quarter with a hip injury and didn’t return. Kansas City will need to find pass rush pressure if Ford misses this game on Monday night. Ford doesn’t have the stats to impress but he doesn’t create pressure across from Justin Houston.
