One look at the NFL standings reveal that the AFC has only one unbeaten team left—the Kansas City Chiefs.

It only took three games but the standings have already made it clear who the definitive team is in the AFC. What normally takes several weeks to sort out until there’s only one unbeaten team left in the conference has been taken care of early and the Kansas City Chiefs have come out on top.

That’s not to say they’ll be the last team standing, although the Chiefs have certainly defeated some great teams to be in the place where they are. The Chiefs themselves are responsible for putting a loss up for the New England Patriots. Other fellow unbeatens like the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos all lost for the first time on a Sunday in which the the entire AFC was upside-down for the most part.

The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers went into Week 3 tied atop the AFC North without a single loss and both were unexpectedly tossed into the loss column against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears, respectively. The Miami Dolphins can say the same, especially after losing to the lowly New York Jets—and in such spectacular fashion.

The only other undefeated team in the NFL right now is the Atlanta Falcons, who made last year’s Super Bowl against the Patriots. Interestingly enough, the Chiefs also beat them during the regular season in a road game. Maybe their AFC supremacy should actually be read as NFL supremacy.
