Here is your gameday open thread to talk about any and all aspects of the day in football and the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers.

There’s so much to discuss for NFL fans in Week 3, whether you’re interested in politics and race and the national anthem debate or whether you want to sidestep all of that for the sake of some great football. Week 3 has plenty of good match-ups to discuss, including two certain AFC West teams hoping to either gain some ground in the standings or put some distance between them—depending on your point of view.

The Los Angeles Chargers host the Kansas City Chiefs today in a game that’s turning into a must-win for the Chargers before sinking to 0-3 on the season. They’ve played their first two opponents so closely that they could be 2-0 if not for some missed field goal attempts and special teams snafus, but now they face the Chiefs in a divisional showdown that could sink them before they ever get started.

For the Chiefs, today’s game is about putting their first AFC West opponent in a difficult hole and winning a game that’s predicted to be among the easier ones on the schedule to keep pace with their competition in the division and AFC. Those in the know realize the Chargers will never turn over and play dead, but they’re also not considered to be one of the tougher games on the schedule. These are the sorts of games the Chiefs expected to win so that they can potentially withstand further losses down the road, like to the Pittsburgh Steelers or Dallas Cowboys.

Consider this your open thread. Keep it clean and let’s go Chiefs!
