The voters in the latest MMQB poll have placed the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs atop the latest NFL Power Rankings for Week 2.

The Kansas City Chiefs have earned considerable more respect from NFL experts than they held one week ago, when they had yet to topple the New England Patriots in Foxborough to open the season. That single performance not only proved the Chiefs were likely destined to make the postseason once again but that they might be talented and aggressive enough to actually make a serious run in January.

The latest NFL power rankings are out from the voters at Monday Morning Quarterback and the Chiefs are situated just behind the Green Bay Packers for the No. 1 overall slot. At No. 2, the Chiefs moved up 5 spots from No. 7 in the previous week. The Packers themselves moved up 1 slot after watching the Patriots slide from No. 1 to No. 5.

The Packers earned 9 first place votes and the Chiefs had 8. In total points from votes accumulated, the Packers were ahead by two overall: 550 to 548. The Dallas Cowboys received the other No. 1 overall vote, and they come in at No. 3 this week.

This week will present another formidable challenge for the Chiefs as they face the Philadelphia Eagles at home at Arrowhead Stadium. The Eagles come in ranked at No. 10 overall and Carson Wentz once again looks red hot in September. The Eagles didn’t look nearly as poised as the Chiefs in their win, but they certainly impressed enough with a win over their divisional rivals, the Washington Redskins.

The Oakland Raiders are the very next team in the AFC West on the list, coming in at No. 6 overall. The Denver Broncos are No. 14 and the Los Angeles Chargers are No. 19. Bringing up the rear are the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets, coming in at No. 31 and 32 respectively.
