Travis Kelce was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and is ready to go against the New England Patriots on Thursday night.
The Kansas City Chiefs are relatively healthy heading into Thursday night’s season-opening game against the New England Patriots. Of the players listed on the official injury report, only starting safety Ron Parker was being counted on to contribute and he’s listed as questionable for the game after being a limited participant in practice for most of the week leading up to the game.
Parker is a valuable versatile contributor in the secondary who can slide outside, inside to corner or free safety, so it would be a significant loss if Parker weren’t able to suit up for the Chiefs. However, Parker was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday, so that’s a good sign that he’ll be ready to play against Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Travis Kelce, the Chiefs All-Pro tight end, was also limited in practice this week with a knee injury, but he also practiced in full on Wednesday and wasn’t even included in the team’s official injury report heading into Thursday night’s game.
Two other players, linebacker Reggie Ragland and offensive lineman Parker Ehinger, are listed as doubtful for the Chiefs, but neither player was expected to play much, if at all, early on in the season. Ragland and Ehinger both are returning from ACL tears last season and it remains to be seen when both will be ready to return to the field. While both players might be able to suit up in an emergency, they’re not game-ready yet, so they’re likely just going to be relegated to the sideline for Week 1 and maybe even beyond.
