After a weekend of 1,200 players getting cut the NFL is ready to start on Thursday night. The Chiefs head to New England to take on the Patriots to kickoff the NFL season. K.C. will have to be ready to play and ready to take the game to Brady and the Patriots. Kansas City will head into New England without a couple of key players. Spencer Ware was officially placed on injured reserve as was Ashton Lampkin on Sunday.

On Saturday the Chiefs cut C.J. Spiller from the roster in a move that shocked most. On Sunday it was announced Spiller was resigned and Chiefs third year CB Steven Nelson was placed on IR. Nelson had surgery to to fix a core muscle injury and is out for at least the first eight weeks. He will be eligible to return to the roster after week eight. He must miss at least the first six games and then is allowed at least two weeks to practice before he can be brought back.

On Monday the Chiefs had four players that were limited at practice. Travis Kelce (calf), Ron Parker (ankle), Parker Ehinger (knee), and Reggie Ragland (knee) were limited. Ehinger and Ragland are coming off knee injuries last season. Travis Kelce and Ron Parker are big injuries that they can’t afford to have to start the season. Bennie Logan, Terrance Mitchell, and Cairo Santos all practiced in full on Monday. This also means that free agent addition Roy Miller practiced in full as well as he gets back into shape and ready to play this season.
