Now that the second preseason game is in the books, Chris Clark is back with another 53-man roster projection. Here’s a look at the defense.

Earlier this week, we featured the latest projections for a final 53-man roster for the Kansas City Chiefs with a closer look at the offensive side of the ball. The Chiefs have difficult decisions to make on both sides of the ball, and today’s look at the defense features several positions at which K.C. will likely have to release some real performers of value. Here’s a look at projections for the team’s defense entering the regular season.

Defensive Line

Chris Jones – Jones should be in a fantastic position to have an even better sophomore year than his freshman campaign. Jones still needs to work on his pad level at times but he is already an elite defender.

Bennie Logan – Yes the Chiefs upgraded the nose tackle position in the off-season.

Allen Bailey – The Hulk will be tying down one of the defensive end positions and has already shown his value this preseason. Bailey is an excellent run defender and has shown flashes of pass rush ability.

Roy Miller – Should help the run defense and can spell Logan. Also will help the Chiefs on short yardage or goal line situations.

Rakeem Nunez-Roches – Put on twenty five pounds of muscle in his lower half in the off-season. He is still showing the quickness he had last year but the extra weight should make him much more effective in the run game.

Tanoh Kpassangnon – The rookie will make the team but it’s hard to know how much he’ll play this year.

Jarvis Jenkins – At this point I think the Chiefs keep seven defensive linemen but I think this is where you could see less players if they need another roster spot.
