Tony Romo won’t be making his broadcasting debut tonight on CBS after all, given that his wife just gave birth to a new baby.

For those looking forward to hearing former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo make his broadcasting debut on Friday, you’re going to have to wait just a bit longer. Romo was originally scheduled to debut with Jim Nantz on Friday’s CBS telecast of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Seattle Seahawks, but instead both men will be replaced after Romo’s wife gave birth to a new baby earlier this week.

Instead of Nantz and someone else, Sports Media Watch reports that he will be freed from covering this game so he can focus on a PGA event this weekend, and the entire broadcasting duo will now be Spero Dedes and former NFL quarterback Dan Fouts. Dedes has been calling NFL and NBA games for years now.

Romo retired this offseason and decided to head into broadcasting after a dramatic offseason where he was linked to several teams as a potential new starter. Romo lost his job as the Cowboys quarterback after rookie Dak Prescott performed so well while he was injured. Romo then was rumored to be interested in playing for the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. However, when Jerry Jones, the Cowboys owner, demanded compensation via trade, any potential interest was over and Romo entered into broadcasting.

It’s unknown when Romo might make his debut next.
