My Twitter feed has been a war of the worlds recently. One camp begs me to stop talking about Patrick Mahomes – a technically backup quarterback – and another camp eggs me on. So today, along with the help of Pete Sweeney, I did a bit of both.
There are plenty of non-Mahomes things in today’s episode, though the Mahomes talk is sandwiched in the middle. I start by talking about other things, like the Chiefs’ star running backs of the past. …Like “Priest Maholmes.” Which I actually said. Because I’m an idiot.
But then conversation turned to the quarterback situation. I ended up ranking NFL quarterbacks against Alex Smith, and I ultimately surprised myself by how many quarterbacks around the league that I would take ahead of the Chiefs’ current starter.
