Emile Pierce of Stripe Hype recently answered our questions about the upcoming game against the Bengals on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs will visit the Cincinnati Bengals for their second preseason game, a contest that will feature the NFL’s two fastest players in Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill and Bengals rookie John Ross. It also features two teams with playoff aspirations in a crowded AFC field.

As we look forward to the game, we recently asked Emile Pierce, site expert for Stripe Hype (our Bengals blog on the FanSided network), for a look at the Bengals roster, their chances and whether or not we’ll see much from seriously hyped rookies like Ross and Joe Mixon.

Will we get to see John Ross and/or Joe Mixon in action this weekend?

John Ross was finally able to punch the time clock at Paul Brown Stadium. He looked good in his first NFL training camp action. Of course, the Bengals lined him up against the speedster William Jackson III. It was like the Flash vs Max Mercury (choose your super hero}. There was no clear winner, but the matchup was awesome. After offseason shoulder surgery, Ross will probably be shelved until the opener against Baltimore.

As far as Joe Mixon, he’ll definitely get some more touches. His Week 1 performance against the Buccaneers was…electric. He was everything Bengals fans and coaches were looking for. His ability to read the holes delivered by the O-line is a breath of fresh air. Look for him to log significant time with the first unit.

How are you feeling about Cincy’s chances this year? Optimistic?

Optimistic is probably the best word to use for the Bengals’ postseason chances, this season. With all the shiny new toys, there should be nothing standing in the way of an AFC North crown. But, as always, there’s always one word seasoned Bengals fans use. Please insert cautiously before any word denoting something great. If Cincinnati can get over the Pittsburgh Steelers hump, they can get things done in the AFC North.

Any under-the-radar players we should be aware of for the Bengals?

Offensive guard Trey Hopkins has been looking good in place of Andre Smith. He started the Tampa Bay game and held his own against the defensive pressure. He cleared the way for decent yardage on the ground and gave up zero sacks.

Who are some potential players with value for other teams who are on the roster bubble for Cincy?

Thankfully, for fans and coaches, the Bengals are deep this season. But, that doesn’t bode well for the players. With Tyler Eifert looking healthy, C.J. Uzomah and rookie Mason Schreck could be out. Cincy turned a few heads when they picked up Bene Bewikere. But, he’s battling it out with Josh Shaw and Darqueze Dennard. Most of the bubble players would be great additions elsewhere.
